Just a quick update:
Today I took Waldo and GA-21 to get to Columbia, South Carolina from Gainesville, Florida and only used half a tank of gas in my 2004 Toyota Prius! I forgot that I told the navigation system to take a different route. After I crossed the Florida-Georgia border, I started going with the flow speed wise (75 miles an hour isn't enough to satisfy people anymore), and let cruise control take over the accelerator; that was a big mistake, the darned cruise control (CC) program doesn't understand that hills aren't infinitely tall. Before CC took over, I had managed 58 miles per gallon from Depot Road to the FL-GA border, a route comprised of city, highway, Waldo (speed trap), and interstate driving. Today's shout outs are after the jump ...
Drafting behind an H2 is about ¼ as effective as drafting behind a standard tractor-trailer and because of the speeds we were traveling, I can't tell you how they compare at breaking a gusting headwind. Also of slight interest to the regular readers, I did not see any RX400h today, although a handful of Highlander hybrids popped up.
My thoughts go out the families of the two white SUVs I saw with roof damage. I passed two separate crash scenes each involving a white SUV, both appeared to be rollovers, one looked to be weather related. If you don't mind, please take a moment of silence for these people. Trackback(0)
