I said I'd revisit sync when I knew more. Take a look at this video:
I still think there is nothing technical keeping this technology with Ford... (Read More)
This technology would perfectly compliment my Prius' interface, I already have a talk button and a seven inch touch screen, along with microphone and bluetooth. It would be awesome if I could purchase an aftermarket head-unit to replace my radio. Even better, if I could get a plug-in module that connects to the existing systems of the Prius and overrides features that both Sync and Prius include like support for the bluetooth headset profile. What would make this even better is if Sync would pass on commands to the Prius such as air conditioner settings. Why should sync pass commands to the Prius? Upgrades should be total upgrades and not cut out useful features, if I could no longer tell the car what temperature I wanted and instead had to use the hair-brained climate screen it would put me at risk of a crash. I'm a capable driver but these soft-touch and voice only controls would be crazy without the voice option. I know you can use the steering wheel controls but that can take longer than just saying the temperature. This technology has me extremely excited and I will be following it as gets closer to market.
I want this technology in the next Prius!
