Pictured: Nokia's 6102i.
I recently bought a new Nokia6102i. This phone was displayed as a camera phone with tons of cool stuff loaded into it and the ability to store pictures, ringtones, and graphics.
Seeing as how I'm a little stretched for cash, I went with this cheaper phone rather than spending the extra $200 for the Motorola that I wanted. This was a mistake on my part. Not only can I not store a lot of pictures, it seems that 10 is the limit, which also includes the pictures I put on peoples caller IDs. I downloaded some MP3 ringtones to the phone only to find out that this memory is also picture memory and thus I could no longer use my camera because I had to delete my ringtones. If all of this isnt bad enough, I found out that the phone is flawed in design. If you close the flip to hard the phone shuts off, if you put the phone in your pocket, it seems it shuts down, if you throw the phone on the bed, IT SHUTS DOWN! And I have a soft bed so its not like I threw it on a rock. The other day I needed to make a call and flipped the phone open only to find the phone flashing PHONE RESTRICTED. This has happened 6 times in the short time I have owned the phone. Each time this happened in the beginning I would call ATT/Cingular and ask them for the undo code. This took on average 2 hours to complete for some reason or another. One day I discovered that if I hit the phone on the back it will shut down and reset its self no longer requiring the PUC code. I asked ATT about a refund and was told I could get a refurb even though I bought the phone new, and that that's the best they would do. The battery life on the phone is actually not bad, and its easy to use, but otherwise I wouldnt recomend this phone. I did a little research and found that several people have voiced their concerns with this phone because they are having the same issues as I am. Blogs are a wonderful thing aren't they :) Trackback(0)
